Cooking ClassesÂ
We are seeking volunteers to assist with cooking enrichment classes that teach families and adults basic cooking skills for affordable, nutritious, and kid-friendly recipes. Through these activities volunteers have an opportunity to build relationships while having fun cooking.
Learning Garden
Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks, including: planting seasonal vegetables, weeding and watering garden beds, and keeping compost piles active and healthy. While most volunteers can volunteer individually, we also love to host groups.
Nutrition Education
We need volunteers to help create games and activities for kids to learn more about healthy eating habits. Past activities have included board games based on learning food groups, Bean Bingo, Fruit and Veggie Memory, and taste tests. You would have access to all past resources, printers, and laminators at the Resource Center, as well as our on-site Learning Garden. Activity/game development can be done virtually or in person at the Neighborhood Resource Center.
